Truckhaven Carnforth: Breakfast Review

This is a review of the “King of the Road” full English breakfast that is available 7 days a week from Truckhaven, located at Scotland Road, Carnforth, Lancashire, LA5 9RQ.

About Truckhaven

Truckhaven (Carnforth) has been privately owned and operated since its establishment in 1990, offering exceptional amenities to both HGV drivers and the general public.

Situated just half a mile away from Junction 35 of the M6, the location is perfectly positioned for easy access to the national motorway network and provides a convenient base for discovering the numerous local sights and attractions.

The Truckhaven at Carnforth is a bit of a hidden gem. It is not located on the M6, so it is easy to bypass it and continue to the next service station several miles further up the motorway.

I have visited Truckhaven several times over the last 5 years, it is one of my favourite breakfast restaurants in the area. They also offer food seven days a week, the highlight being the roast dinner option, served Sunday-Thursday only.

Cost of Breakfast: £7.85 (King of the Road, 8-item breakfast, includes toast and a drink)

The restaurant was clean and spacious with plenty of tables and chairs available.

Breakfast is ordered at the hot plate and then you move down to the till to order your drink and pay the bill.

Despite being busy (it was a Sunday morning), the staff were friendly and efficient and I received my breakfast within 5 minutes of ordering.

This is an eight-item breakfast, so I had 2 sausages, 2 bacon, hash brown, beans, mushroom and a fried egg (it’s worth pointing out, that fried egg is the only egg option).

The breakfast comes complete with 2 pieces of toast and 2 blocks of butter and a hot drink (tea in my case).

From my perspective, everything was cooked just right and I enjoyed the meal.

I think the breakfast at Truckhaven is of good quality and offers excellent value for money.

If you think the 8-item breakfast, might be a bit too much for you, they also offer a smaller 5-item breakfast at just £6.85, this also includes toast and a drink and again, represents great value for money.

In Summary

Having eaten at this establishment many times over the years, I can say without a doubt that the breakfast at Truckhaven and the rest of the food they offer is excellent, as is the service from the staff.

The location is convenient and clean. They also offer rooms, shower facilities and overnight parking should you require it.

This makes it a great rest stop for truckers, caravanners, motorhomes and the like.
